There was more water in the stream than what I expected but it was fishable and expecially scenic.
Brookies were here but they didn't respond like they used to. Maybe I just have to remember that it is still February.
The deeper pools did produce but both Gary and I had difficulty keeping the fish on the hook.
A pic of one of the many we hooked. At least this one made it to the net. It wasn't uncommon to hit a bunch of fish in each hole but getting them to the net…
Gary getting a pic of one of the few we netted.
Got several hits from this pool. The water was gin clear but the fish didn't seem to be overly spooky.
Can't wait for Spring. It'll be a hoot to throw a dry if these water levels hold up.
But, yes, a constant reminder....it's still winter and it's still cool.
One of Gary's. We never expect any size when we fish this stream but we are constantly amazed at the beauty of these fish.
Surprisingly, I only coaxed one fish out of this hole. In past visits this was a honey hole.
We used strike indicators most of the day but when it slowed down I had to resort to Euro nymphing to pull a few fish.
